Recently, we received evidence of an individual named Praveen Kumar is illegally pirating digital products, including Untitled UI, via piracy Telegram channels. Praveen Kumar was caught using his own account, number, and email address.
It's incredibly concerning to see other "designers" blatantly stealing from their peers and we have a zero tolerance policy against people like Praveen Kumar.
Not only are these actions unethical, but they also constitute a blatant violation of our license agreement and amounts to willful copyright infringement, which is a criminal offence under Indian law, specifically the Copyright Act, 1957.
Under the Indian Copyright Act, any person who knowingly infringes on copyrighted material can face both civil and criminal penalties. These may include imprisonment of up to 3 years, fines of up to ₹2 lakh, and potential civil damages through legal proceedings. Willful infringement, particularly involving software, music, films, or other intellectual property, is treated as a serious offence under Indian law. We've engaged a law firm in Bengaluru to assist in copyright and IP matters.
