The best Figma course in 2026 is Level Up with Figma by Joey Banks: $129 self-paced, 30 video lessons over eight hours, and the only mid-priced course we verified that already teaches Figma Make and the Figma MCP server alongside components, auto layout and variables.

For absolute beginners on a budget, Daniel Walter Scott's Figma UI UX Design Essentials (updated May 2026) is the best course to start with. For design systems depth, Figma Academy 2.0. Every price below was checked in September 2026.

Figma is the most widely used user interface design and prototyping tool in the world, and knowing it well is still the highest-leverage skill a product designer or web designer can add. The catch is that Figma changes fast. Variables, component properties, UI3, Dev Mode, Figma Make, Sites, Draw and now Figma Motion have all landed since most "best Figma courses" lists were written, and plenty of the online courses on those lists have not been updated since.

So we rebuilt this one. There are hundreds of ways to learn Figma online, from YouTube video tutorials to $10,000 user experience design bootcamps, and the best online courses are rarely the ones with the biggest ad budgets. We fetched every course's current sales page, checked prices, lesson counts, last-updated dates and enrollment status, and dropped anything that has closed, gone stale or never got past constraints and frames.

Our top 14 courses are ranked by the Figma skills and design skills you will have when you finish, not by how loud the marketing is. Whether you are an absolute beginner or a product designer who wants to become a Figma expert, there is a course here for your skill level.

How we chose these Figma courses

• Current content. Every course had to show evidence of being updated for the 2024 interface (UI3) and, ideally, variables and Dev Mode. Online courses last updated in 2022 or 2023 were cut, including two long-standing Udemy favorites.
• Verified pricing and availability. We fetched every sales page this month. Closed courses were dropped (Design System Bootcamp is no longer available; Learn UI Design is closed to individuals). Cohort dates and early-bird prices are noted where they apply.
• Teaches the job, not just the tool. Auto layout, reusable components and properties, variables, responsive design, interactive prototypes, developer handoff, and increasingly Figma Make and MCP. A course that stops at drawing rectangles is a tutorial, not a course.
• Instructor track record. People who have built design systems for real products and design teams, or who have taught thousands of designers and kept their material current.
• Refund policy and format. These are called out for each course, because a $700 cohort with no refund is a different purchase from a $29 set of video tutorials.
• Design skills, not just tools. We favored courses that teach design thinking, the design process and best practices alongside the tools, because design skills are what employers actually hire for.

What a good Figma course should teach in 2026

Before the list, a checklist. Whatever your skill level, a Figma course worth paying for in 2026 should cover most of this, and the best ones cover all of it. Use it to judge any course, including ones not on this page.

• Fundamentals: frames, constraints, styles, the file browser and the UI3 user interface. Every beginner course does this; the good ones do it in the first hour and move on.
• Auto layout and responsive design: building layouts that resize properly, including Grid auto layout, which shipped in 2025.
• Reusable components: component properties, variants, instance swap and slots, so a design system is made of reusable components rather than copies.
• Variables and modes: color, number, string and boolean variables, light and dark themes, and how variables map to design tokens in code.
• Interactive prototypes: flows, overlays, conditional logic and smart animate, tested on real mobile apps and web design layouts, not just a single click-through.
• Dev Mode and handoff: annotations, measurements, and how developers actually consume a Figma file.
• The design process around the tool: briefs, user experience research, wireframes, design thinking, critique and iteration. Figma skills without design skills produce tidy files of bad ideas, and the best online courses teach both.
• The newest Figma features: Figma Make, the Figma MCP server, Figma Sites and Motion. Not every course needs these yet, but the best ones already have them, and any course still selling itself as the ultimate Figma masterclass without them is behind.

Is paying for a Figma course worth it?

For the basics, no. Figma's own free beginner course and the other picks in our free Figma courses guide will get you building screens in a day.

Paying starts to make sense for a product designer or web designer in three situations: you want structured feedback on your own design projects from a mentor or cohort, you need depth on design systems, variables and Dev Mode that free video tutorials only skim, or you want a curriculum someone maintains every time Figma ships a major release. Most of the courses below exist to solve at least one of those.

Level Up with Figma is his complete course, and in 2026 it is the one we would buy first, whether you want to learn Figma from scratch or you are a working product designer who wants to become a Figma expert.

It starts with fundamentals, shortcuts and best practices for organizing user interface files, then works through reusable components, auto layout and responsive design, variables and Dev Mode, and it is the only course under $500 we verified that already has lessons on Figma Make and the Figma MCP server. Every lesson comes with a Figma file to work in, so you finish with real projects rather than notes. There is a 30-day refund, a digital certificate, and a 20% discount for design teams. It is rated 4.8 out of 5 from 350+ reviews with more than 3,000 graduates.

Figma Academy is the advanced Figma course for designers who already use Figma every day and want to use it the way the best product design teams do. Ridd teaches directly inside the Figma canvas, so every lesson is a file you can inspect, not a screen recording you watch. It is the closest thing to an ultimate Figma masterclass for advanced features that we would actually recommend, and the fastest route from competent user to Figma expert.

The curriculum covers design process, design systems and style systems, variables, responsive design, interactive prototypes, workflows and handoff, paired with slides and demo project files. More than 5,000 designers have taken Figma Academy and it carries a 9.5 rating. There are periodic live Q&As, and teams of three or more pay $375 a seat.

Two things to know: the $899 cohort tier that used to exist is gone (the old Maven version is no longer available), and the page does not state a last-updated date or mention Figma Make or AI. It remains the best pure design-systems-in-Figma teaching we know of, and the natural next step for experienced designers who have outgrown beginner material.

Christine Vallaure has taught user interface design and Figma to a very large audience through Skillshare and YouTube, and moonlearning is her own school. The membership includes every course she has made, and new ones are added as Figma features change, which is the point: the flagship Getting Started with Figma (about 4 hours, 70+ video lessons) had its responsive design section rebuilt for the Config 2025 auto layout changes.

Beyond the beginner course there are dedicated courses on variables, Dev Mode, design systems, product design workflows, handoff to AI agents, and building an agentic AI team with Claude, plus hybrid two-to-four-week design systems workshops for design teams. If you learn best from a teacher who explains why Figma behaves the way it does, this is the most current library of Figma online courses available. Refund and certificate terms are not stated on the pricing page, so check before you buy.

4. AI Design Systems Bootcamp by Memorisely

Memorisely has run live design bootcamps for years, and its 2026 design systems course is the most current curriculum we found for how design systems actually get built now. You define primitive and semantic tokens in Figma variables, scope them properly, then push the system into code with Claude Code and the Figma MCP server, generating React components in Cursor.

It is a live cohort that runs several times a year (check the course page for the next start date), it comes with a certificate, and it is the right course if your design team is being asked to connect Figma to a codebase with AI tooling. Memorisely also runs a sister AI Product Design Bootcamp at the same price built around Figma Make prototyping, AI-assisted user experience research and agent design. Refund terms are not shown on the page.

5. 30-Day UI

Jesse Showalter has been teaching design on YouTube for over a decade, and 30-Day UI (now run through his Design Champs school) is his structured beginner program: a month of daily video tutorials and exercises that take you from user interface fundamentals through responsive layouts, interactive prototypes and design systems, to capstone real-world projects and case studies you can put in a portfolio. It is built for people who want to learn Figma and UI design at the same time.

It includes Figma files for every exercise, monthly live sessions, six months of community access, and a certificate. Jesse is explicit that it is for beginners and not for experienced designers, and there are no refunds, so make sure the beginner framing fits your skill level. The price has come down from $799.

6. Shift Nudge

Shift Nudge is the best visual design education on this list, and it is important to be precise about what it is: a course on visual design for user interfaces that happens to run in Figma, not a course to learn Figma from scratch. If your screens work but look amateur, this is what fixes that.

The eight modules cover typography, layout, color, style, imagery, UI components and tactics, with a critique vault of over 1,000 real design reviews where Matt acts as mentor on other students' design projects. Recent additions include dedicated Figma lessons and a set of Claude Code lessons for designers shipping their own work. It is now sold as an annual membership rather than a one-off purchase, with a 60-day refund if you have done the work, and a certificate. Budget five to seven hours a week.

7. Figma UI UX Design Essentials

Figma UI UX Design Essentials is still the best course for absolute beginners, and one of the very few Udemy Figma courses that is actively maintained: it was last updated in May 2026. Over 210,000 students have taken it and it holds a 4.7 rating from more than 48,000 reviews.

Dan starts with user interface and user experience design definitions, a brief and personas, then builds through wireframes, color, type and images, UI components and variants, constraints, interactive prototypes, developer handoff, and Figma's AI features, with a mobile app and a web design as the two real-world projects. What it does not cover is variables or Dev Mode in depth; that is what his advanced course is for. Udemy's list price is $84.99, but the course is discounted to $15 to $25 most weeks, so never pay full price. The first third is also free on YouTube (see our free Figma courses list).

If you already pay for Coursera Plus, the same material is on Coursera as the Figma UI UX Design Essentials Specialization: three courses (Tools and Foundations, Layout and Components, Prototypes and Handoff) totaling about 31 hours with graded assignments and a certificate.

The Coursera version is rated 4.3 from a smaller pool of reviews than the Udemy version, mostly because Coursera's assignment structure adds friction, but the video lessons are the same. Pick the Figma UI UX Design Essentials Specialization if you want a Coursera certificate on your profile; pick Udemy if you want it cheap and done.

8. UI Design and Figma Mastery

Arash teaches UI design at university level and runs the DesignWithArash YouTube channel, and this is his full program. It combines visual design and user interface fundamentals (color, type, layout, responsive design) with a thorough tour of Figma features, including a dedicated 30-minute variables section and Dev Mode lessons, and ends with interactive prototypes and animation for web and mobile apps.

Over 2,400 students have taken it with a 4.9 rating, and it comes with a certificate. Two caveats: there are no refunds, and the page does not state a last-updated date. His free 90-minute crash course, on our free list, is a good way to check his teaching style first.

9. Advanced Figma by Designlab

Length of course: 4 weeks at 5 to 6 hours per week
Instructor: Nevan Scott and Designlab mentors
Skill level: Intermediate

Designlab is best known for its UX Academy bootcamp, and Advanced Figma is its focused four-week advanced Figma course for designers who already know the basics. Self-paced lessons are paired with a weekly 60-minute mentor group, which is the thing most video tutorials cannot give you: an experienced mentor looking at your files and telling you what to fix.

The syllabus covers auto layout, reusable components, variables and tokens, and color and type systems. New cohorts start roughly once a month, there is a certificate, and a refund is available within seven days of completion if you participated fully. At $799 it is the most expensive cohort course on this list that is not a membership, and it is priced for the mentor time.

10. Figma Advanced: Become a Figma Pro

The follow-on to Essentials, and the advanced Figma course that fills its gaps. Variables get proper treatment (color, number, boolean and conditional), alongside Dev Mode, team libraries, accessibility and Figma's AI features. It was updated for 2025 and comes with a certificate and a 14-day refund.

It is sold through Dan's Bring Your Own Laptop membership at $12 a month or $84 a year, which also unlocks his other design tools courses (Adobe XD, Illustrator, web design), so it is cheaper than buying two Udemy courses at list price. On Coursera the same content is the Intermediate to Advanced: Professional Figma UI/UX Design specialization, the natural sequel to the Figma UI UX Design Essentials Specialization if you are already on that platform. Between the two you get the full design process, from first wireframe to variables and Dev Mode.

11. Figmaster

Instructor: Matt (Mateusz) Wierzbicki
Skill level: Intermediate

Figmaster is not a set of video tutorials. It is a workbook that runs as a plugin inside Figma, built by the designer behind the Ant Design System for Figma. You complete exercises in your own file and finish with a working style guide and a library of reusable components of your own.

The four modules cover the style guide and design system foundations, UI components built with auto layout and variants, documentation, and putting the system to use in real design projects. Because everything happens inside Figma, best practices for layer naming, component structure and design tools like plugins get absorbed as you go rather than memorized. There is a certificate, a seven-day refund, and free demo lessons to try before buying. The team license covers up to 25 people. It does not show a last-updated date, so check the demo lessons against your interface first.

At $29 (down from $75), Figma Mastery is the cheapest complete Figma course we would recommend, and the best value on this list by a distance. Adrian Kuleszo, who also wrote the UI Components handbook on our UI design books list, walks through the whole design process from file setup to handoff in a little over 10 hours, building real-world projects along the way, with homework files for each lesson and lifetime updates.

It covers responsive design, auto layout, UI components, mobile apps and interactive prototypes well, and Adrian's eye for visual design means the example files look like real product design work rather than tutorial mock-ups. It does not list variables or Dev Mode and the page does not state a last-updated date, so pair it with one of the advanced courses above once you have the fundamentals.

13. Figma for Web Designers 2.0

Flux Academy is Ran Segall's school for freelance web designers, and this course is Figma taught for people who will ship the result in Webflow or Framer. It covers auto layout, reusable components, variables, interactive prototypes, handoff and plugins, with a strong focus on web design best practices such as typesetting, grids and responsive breakpoints, plus a module on mobile apps. It finishes with a mentor-reviewed web design project that earns the certificate.

It is sold as part of Flux's membership tiers: Foundation at $197 a year, Edge at $497, Accelerator at $1,667, each adding more mentor access and business training for freelancers. There is a 30-day refund. If you do not need the business side, the Foundation tier is the one to buy.

14. The Ultimate Design Tokens Course

A specialist pick. Romina Kavčič runs The Design System Guide, and this course is the most focused teaching available on design tokens: how to structure primitive and semantic tokens in Figma variables, how to manage them in Tokens Studio, and how to name and document them so engineers on your design team can use them. Editable Figma and JSON files are included.

It will not teach you Figma, so take it after one of the general courses above. There is a certificate and a 14-day refund. If your next job involves the word "tokens", this is worth the money.

Best Figma courses by skill level

The same fourteen courses, sorted by who they are for. Pick the line that matches you and ignore the rest.

• Absolute beginners (never opened Figma): Figma UI UX Design Essentials for the full design process, Figma Mastery for the cheapest complete course, or 30-Day UI if you want a month of structure. Any of these will take you to your first finished web and mobile app screens and give you enough design skills to keep going.
• Beginners who know another design tool: Level Up with Figma or moonlearning. Both assume you understand design and teach how Figma does it.
• Working designers who want to go advanced: Figma Academy 2.0, Figma Advanced and Designlab's Advanced Figma. Variables, Dev Mode, systems and workflows.
• Experienced designers building design systems: Memorisely, Figmaster and The Ultimate Design Tokens Course. Those who already ship systems will get the most from Memorisely's Figma-to-code cohort.
• Web designers: Figma for Web Designers 2.0, then Level Up with Figma. Both treat web design as the end product rather than an abstract exercise.
• Designers whose Figma skills are fine but whose visual design is not: Shift Nudge or UI Design and Figma Mastery. Both are as much about design skills and design thinking as about the tool.

How to choose a Figma course

• Match your skill level honestly. Advanced Figma courses assume you already use auto layout and components daily. If you do not, start with a beginner course and move up; you will learn faster and spend less. The best course is the one pitched one step above where you are now.
• Self-paced or cohort. Cohorts (Designlab, Memorisely, Level Up live) cost more and give you a mentor, feedback and a deadline. Self-paced online courses are cheaper and you can start today.
• Check the update date. If a sales page cannot tell you when the course was last updated, assume the Figma features in the videos will not match yours.
• Look for variables, Dev Mode and Make. These advanced features are what separate a 2026 course from a 2022 one. Figma features ship every few months, so "updated for advanced features" should mean this year.
• Look for real-world projects and mobile apps. The best course for you is one that has you finish whole projects (a landing page, a mobile app, a small design system) rather than isolated exercises, following the same design process a product design team would. That is what ends up in your portfolio.
• Read the refund policy. Two courses here (30-Day UI, UI Design and Figma Mastery) offer none.

Is Figma hard to learn?

No. Figma is one of the easiest professional design tools to learn, and probably the easiest user interface design tool ever made. The interface is compact, it runs in a browser on any operating system, and the free plan never expires. Designers coming from Sketch or Adobe XD are usually productive in an afternoon; absolute beginners can build a simple screen within a few hours of a beginner course.

What is hard is using Figma the way professional designers do: using auto layout effectively, components best practices, using variables instead of hard-coded values, working with developers, advanced interactive prototypes, and building and maintaining files that other designers can work in. Those are the Figma skills paid courses are for.

A Figma expert is not necessarily someone who knows every menu; it is someone whose files other designers can pick up and use.

How long does it take to learn Figma?

• Basics: a day. Figma's own free course is three hours; add practice building a couple of user interface screens.
• Comfortable: two to four weeks of regular use, once auto layout and components stop feeling like a fight.
• Job-ready: two to three months at around 10 hours a week, including variables, design systems, interactive prototypes and a portfolio of real projects. Most of the structured courses above are built around a four-week block for exactly that reason, and 10 hours a week is the pace their cohorts assume.

Learning the design process takes longer than learning the tool. User experience design is a discipline, not a feature. Design thinking, critique and iteration are skills you build over years of design projects and best practices you absorb from a design team, along with the other design tools (research, testing, writing) that sit around Figma.

That is why the courses that teach the process alongside Figma (Essentials, Level Up, Shift Nudge) are worth more than pure tool tutorials.

Does Figma have an official certification?

No. Figma does not offer or endorse any certification. Every "Figma certificate" is a completion certificate issued by the course provider, including the ones on this list. They are fine to put on LinkedIn, but hiring managers will open your Figma files and your portfolio, not your certificate.

If you want the most recognized credential anyway, the Google UX Design Professional Certificate on Coursera (Figma is its primary tool) carries the most weight, and it is on our free list because it can be audited at no cost.

Figma courses vs UX design bootcamps

People often compare a $500 Figma course with a $10,000 user experience design bootcamp, and they are different products. A Figma course teaches the tool and, at best, the design process around it. A UX bootcamp teaches user experience design as a career: user experience research, information architecture, usability testing, portfolio and job search, with Figma as one of several design tools and user interface design as one of several skills. Design thinking gets weeks in a bootcamp and an afternoon in most Figma courses.

If you already work in product design or web design and need Figma skills, one of the best Figma courses above is the right buy. If you are changing careers into user experience design from scratch, a bootcamp or the Google certificate is closer to what you need, and a Figma course is the supplement.

Whatever course you pick, the fastest way we know to lock in the skills is to open a professional file and pull it apart. Pick a component, rebuild it from scratch with your own auto layout, properties and variables, then compare yours to the original. It is how a lot of product designers on real design teams learned user interface design in the first place.

Repeat with a landing page or an application screen. Most of what a course teaches about structure only sticks once you have done this a few times on real projects.
