We recently obtained extensive evidence that an individual named Yanqi Cai has been illegally pirating and selling digital products, including Untitled UI, via the Chinese marketplaces Taobao and Goofish / Xianyu (闲鱼). This constitutes willful and deliberate copyright and intellectual property infringement. Under PRC Copyright Law, this is both a civil and criminal offense, with penalties including substantial fines and imprisonment of up to 10 years.
Yanqi Cai has been notified multiple times over several years regarding blatant piracy and intentional IP and copyright violations, but has previously ignored notices, hiding behind anonymity. Only when her identity was uncovered did Yanqi Cai cowardly delete all her listings for sale immediately, as well as her LinkedIn and social media profiles in an attempt to go into hiding.
We have a zero-tolerance policy toward piracy criminals like Yanqi Cai and will continue to publicly call out this behavior. We have engaged a specialist IP law firm we've previously worked with in Hong Kong and will be proceeding with both civil and criminal action through the People’s Court against this individual.
